I still have no dining room table, my "guest rooms" are simplistic at best (one has an air mattress and the other has just a mattress & box spring with no bed frame - neither have any other furniture), and overall, my house is only half unpacked.
However, in the last 2 weeks I have hosted 2 overnight guests, had 2 big family dinners (one planned, one spontaneous), and had 2 different people over for a meal and pleasant conversation. I am the hostess without the resources to properly host LOL!
Oh well, with just a few hiccups, things have gone pretty well. My guests have been gracious and not complained. But now I'd REALLY like to wait until I have a dining room table before having another family dinner. With any luck, those critical elements that are missing from the table (the legs) will be delivered in the next few weeks.

I think that makes you the hostess with the leastest. :-) I hope your stuff comes soon!
I thought you were a lovely hostess :) That air mattress was AMAZING! Thanks for putting us up Vicky, we both had a blast!
I remember a commercial with a ficticious restaurant call Flor. The idea was that you'd go there and eat your meal right off the floor. I think it was an advert for Swiffer or some magical cleaning product like that. BTW, are we supposed to throw out our brooms for one of those wasteful gadgets? Anyhoo...
I suggest you put it to the test. Clean your floor with one of those. Invite several people over for a 'contemporary culinary dining experience'. Feed them soup from your floor. No utensils will be permitted.
